LOOS & CO 50^TH ANNIVERSARY AND INTERNATIONAL SALES MEETING

A company celebrating 50 years of success certainly deserves to celebrate. Loos operations began in 1958 in a two-car garage with two employees. The company has now grown to include two divisions and over 400 employees.

September 24^th kicked off the Pomfret division hosted 50^th Anniversary and International Sales Meeting. The event lasted for three days and brought together all of the sales representatives for some team building and the exchange of some very valuable information and ideas.

According to V.P. of Sales and Marketing, Michael Wallace, “by all reports this was a great event. The sales reps all commented that it was one of the best sales meetings that they had ever been to.”

Special guests included Loos’ national independent manufacturer’s sales representatives as well as European and Canadian agents and a few key people from the Naples, FL division. Attendees were given an impressive tour of the 200,000 square foot Pomfret facility followed offsite by a series of presentations focusing on sales growth and opportunities, top markets, customers and products. The tour and presentations helped to reinforce the pride and faith employees have in Loos & Co. Inc.

The sales meeting was held at the Woodstock Inn, also known as “The Inn at Woodstock Hill” and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Here the combined efforts of the Pomfret and Naples sales team made presentations about Loos’ opportunities for growth, capabilities, product lines and capacities. Bill Loos, CEO and Richard Griswold, President, opened the meeting welcoming the attendees and providing a brief history of the company.

Richard Griswold, President, Loos Wire & Wire Rope Division, Pomfret, CT felt that the event “helped to reinforce in our sales reps the pride we have as employees of Loos & Co. Inc. and they were able to take back with them esprit de corps, or a common spirit of comradeship, enthusiasm, and devotion to our cause.”

During their visit guests and attendees also had the opportunity to enjoy some golf or take a tour of the Maritime Museum in Mystic CT.

“This was quite a learning experience for some of our representatives, as it was for many of our Naples attendees. Our Pomfret folks did a fabulous job of hosting this event and their impressive plant tour was invaluable to understanding their capabilities,” said Tony Naines, President, Loos Cableware Division, Naples, FL.

Everyone left with the notion that Loos and Co. is well-positioned to face the challenges of the next fifty years.
