Knitted Wire Mesh


Knitted wire mesh is a metal wire strand knitted into a mesh structure similar to sweaters. The knitting process creates a mesh of interlocking loops which move relative to each other without distorting the mesh. This can't be done with woven meshes, as there is always some form of connection between the wires.

Because of the interlocking loop structure, knitted wire mesh is known for its extreme flexibility. If it's not distorted beyond its yield point, the material will return to its original shape when the stress is removed.
